Housing

The Town has a colourful mix of HDB flats, condominiums & landed property. Most of Bishan-Toa Payoh residents stay in public housing that comes with a variety of facilities for all age groups.

Business

There is a an even mix of commercial and industrial activity here. Residents have multiple shopping malls to choose from; Thomson Plaza, Junction 8 and Toa Payoh Town Centre, and the smaller neighbourhood centres scattered throughout the HDB estates.

Light industries and flatted factories are found in the Sin Ming, Toa Payoh East and Jalan Pemimpin areas.

Schools

Families are spoilt for choice when deciding on the schools to enroll their children. There are primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions and other specialised education centres.

Sports facilities / Clubs

Bishan-Toa Payoh is fast becoming the sports hub of Singapore. Its spectrum of sporting facilities gives the residents every excuse to practice and live a healthy lifestyle. Toa Payoh has a sports complex comprising a running track, football field, swimming pool and table tennis facilities. There is also a golf driving range for the growing pool of golf enthusiasts.

Bishan has similar sports facilities as Toa Payoh, and the additional beach volleyball and basketball located at Bishan Active, and extreme sports facilities for in-line skating, bicycling at Bishan Harmony Park.
